Resources in the KC area

Alicia Johnson, ND - Alicia supported me in the earliest days of my healing journey, using acupuncture, supplements, and immense compassion.

PEP for Life - Jackie provided EMDR therapy, helping me get in touch with the little girl that is me.

K.C. Kinesiology & Massage - Maureen Gorsuch provided physical and emotional support in the first years of my trauma therapy.

Laura Shaughnessy, Counselor - as my friend who happened to be a therapist, Laura helped me face my anxiety and told me about Somatic Experiencing therapy.

Candy Smith Counseling | Somatic Experiencing™- Candy, with whom I worked weekly in trauma recoveryfor over six years, has basically saved my life. Nuff said.

Marcy Meyers - Integration Behavior Practitioner - Marcy, who works in collaboration with me and Candy, supports and heals my energetic body.

New England Chiropractic of Kansas City - Well aware of my significant back and neck history, Sandy Lane keeps my head and body in alignment without a single "crack", using holistic soft tissue manipulation, otherwise known as non-forced techniques.

Pamela Seator, MD - KC Centerpoint - Dr Seator knows and understands trauma, and she helps me manage my anxiety and depression from a pharmaceutical perspective.

Optimum Living - Lorraine helped me restore and redefine balance and well being through T'ai Chi Chih and Therapeutic Touch.

Susannah S, Singing Lessons - Susannah may not realized it, but she has been a wonderful source of healing as she taught me - literally - to find my breath and my voice.

Pamela Hawkins | Artist / Art Medicine Woman - Last but certainly not least, Pam provided the space and support for me to discover and explore my inner artist in 2011. I learned from her that there is no right or wrong in creative expression. She set me on the right path and remains my most beloved art mentor.

Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao by Dr Wayne W Dyer

The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer. It was this beautifully and colorfully illustrated edition that planted the thought in my mind that I too could illustrate a book like this, that my creativity was just waiting to be welcomed in the world. That when I was ready (and that would take a few years), I could tap into the power of all of God's intention for me to live an abundant life. Not a one time revelation, but one that reveals itself anew over the years. I have yet to finish the book, it is so powerful and live altering bit by bit.

A Life Worth Breathing by Max Strom

* Recommended to me by my SE therapist at appropriate points in my healing journey. God and his universe provide what is needed when it is needed.

And finally, a disclaimer:

As noted on the About page, I am not a healer, I am a living example of one who is being healed. Although my journey makes me an expert in this area, I make no claim that I can fix anyone else's problems; I simply share my story and creativity in the hope that it will encourage others to make their own healing choices. Choose life. Choose love. Peace to all.
